Our dockside pontoons have been fitted out with dance floors
where the DistDancing performers have been showcasing a series of
impromptu performances, from classical ballet to aerial acrobatics.
The socially distanced performances can be viewed by passers-by from across
the canal and have been a welcomed treat, not only for lovers of dance,
but also for the furloughed dancers themselves.
On 30th August, the police shut down the performances with
threats of arrest. We've since written a letter to the Met Police
Commissioners Office to contest their decision to close down these beautiful,
perfectly lawful solo performances.
